My name is Mark Schofield. I was born in the UK and now live in France. I have been painting and drawing since 1995. I created this website in 2000 to share my art with the public. It is updated regularly as new work is completed.

The defining concerns in my work are the modelling of space and time. In painting and drawing, this presents a double paradox : how can I represent three dimensions on a two dimensional surface, and how can I represent time in something static? There is no definitive answer to either question, which is reflected in the variety of my work. The only constant is my artistic approach : a focus on clarity and simplicity using an economy of means.
