Union Arbresloise
2013 Exhibition
An exhibition of local artists belonging to the painting section of the Union Arbreloise ran from the 1st to 13th September 2013 at the Multimedia Library of L'Arbresle, Rhône, France
The exhibition featured over 100 paintings and drawings in different media, as well as 10 sculptures. Our theme, for which each artist tried to produce at least one work, was ethnicity.
Still life predominates in my output this year. 3 of 5 works are studies of colocynths that I revisited over a period of several months as they aged. Study of Clouds continued with the theme of water from previous years. The Life of the Etruscans addressed the end of year theme from a slightly different angle. Rather than study an ethnic group of today, I took one from the past that can be understood by looking at the art it left behind.
