Title: Prehistoric Horses
Subcategory: Parietal
Medium: Charcoal and White Chalk on Acrylic
Dimensions: 65 x 54 cm
Year: 2017
Notes: This painting is a pair with another work called Roman Horse, completed almost a year earlier. Roman Horse was the first work in a series of paintings, drawings and sculptures on the theme of horses. Prehistoric Horses will most likely be the last. While Roman Horse depicts a domesticated horse in different poses, Prehistoric Horses depicts three wild Przewalski horses. The Przewalski horse is the closest living relative of the prehistoric horses that our ancestors saw and depicted in cave paintings.
